Died on 01 March 2008
Aged 57.
Lorry Driver/Shunter in
Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Father to Gail; Grandfather to Nicholas (and Mia 02/08/08); Brother to Stephen, Jacqueline, Ray and Son of Margaret,
died of a stab wound to the chest

My Dad - a Wolverhampton man - was a happy-go-lucky kinda guy, who never seemed to let anything faze him. Always smiling, joking and shrugging thing's off.
He's lived and worked in different Towns including Telford, Bridgnorth, Wolverhampton and Doncaster and has left a permanent imprint with everyone he's ever met.
One of his friends recently said to me that he was a 'loveable rogue' who you could never be angry at.
But no matter where he lived or what was happening in his life, my Dad always dedicated a weekly/fortnightly day to come and visit his family.

I love you dearly Dad. You should never have been taken from us, the way in which you were.

to family of vic, i hope this helps you

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
You can shed tears that he is gone
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
or you can be full of the love you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he's gone
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what he'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on,
Not ever gone, Just moved on,
Remembering with him here, A life that was so dear
He is not lost forever, But just for a while,
You'll meet him again, And experience that smile
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

A fella you don\\\\\\

Gail, this is horrible news for all who knew your dad. I first met Vic in the mid/late 60s when we were on the milk together at Merry Hill Dairy. We were always in some minor scrapes together it seemed! Great days! I was actually your milkman for a while, though you may have missed me- I was always running!! If me and your dad were put on a round together you could bet on us being in the cafe in Bridgnorth long before any of the others...I last bumped into Vic on a night out in Gillingham in the 80s. An absolutely hilarious evening ensued! But that was your dad, Gail. I always remember him with a smile on my face. I feel blessed to have known him, one of life's true characters. My thoughts are with you and your family.

What a guy!!!

Hi Gail, I first met your Dad about 13 years ago when i went to work at Salvesen after moving up from Kidderminster. As we were the 'Brummie foreigners' in Yorkshire he helped me alot when i first got there. In life we only have the pleasure of meeting very few special people and for me your Dad was certainly one of these people. He had a fantastic 'jack the lad' mentality to life together with a heart of gold and yet a commitment to his mother, yourself and Nick that anyone would be proud of. Undoubtedly he will be missed by many but the fond memories he as given us are timeless.

I got to know Vic about 15 years ago when i became friends with his daughter Gail. She had come to Featherstone to visit her dad during the summer holidays and we became friends straight away. Vic was a lovely bloke who always made time for Gail and the many friends she had met whilst she was in featherstone.I feel honoured to have known him and am saddened that he has been taken away in such a tragic way. rest in peace Vic xxx Love to Gail and Nickxxx

This is a message for Gail to let you know that I am thinking of you and Nick at this terrible time.
I lit a candle for your dad today and asked him to look after you both and help you get through.
Wish I could be nearer to you but you know where I am if you need me. Lots of love to you ,Nick and your family.xxxx
